REVOKE THE UHF DISCOUNT, WHICH ALLOWS STATIONS TO COUNT ONLY 50% OF ITS AUDIENCE TOWARD THE 39% AUDIENCE CAP

THIS IS ONE OF THE CREEPIEST THINGS WE HAVE EVER SEEN.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is responsible for setting limits on the number of TV and radio broadcast stations any one entity can own.  The FCC also established limits on the level of ownership entities may have in broadcast stations, as well as newspapers.

Currently, a single entity cannot own stations that, together, reach more than 39% of all American households.  In 2017, the FEC reinstated something called the UHF discount, which allows stations to count only 50% of its audience toward the 39% cap.  This rule was implemented before digital broadcast television, when there was only VHF and UHF transmission (essentially, UHF needed help leveling the playing field because its range was more limited than VHF).

This is an obvious attempt to circumvent the 39% cap.  This move is dangerous because it opens the door to total domination of local media markets which, in turn, threatens both diversity and competition.  And leads to total propaganda like the nonsense in the video above.
